I'm planning for my game that the player meets different game heroes and he have to help them. I want to create my own characters but they shall be an allusion to characters which already exists. For example: In a space level you meet the "StarLion" and he needs help cause the evil bugs in the game captured his spaceship - without it he cannot save the galaxy. So this character is an allusion to "StarFox", a character from Nintendo. In another level you meet "Lupix", the worlds fastest porcupine which is collecting golden rings like "Sonic the headhog" from Sega.

What do you think, is this allowed or could this already cause a problem with Nintendo or Sega (to make it clear: I don't use the original names and my characters are also using a different design)?

well if your characters are different and you're using different names I don't think that there's a problem...
but be aware that nintendo is pretty strict with copyright related things
