I have not used the engine for quite a few years as I have always been busy at work. Now that I am retired, I am looking back to those programs I purchased with intentions of creating something fun. There is a wealth of information about 3DGS and it appears to be still a capable engine yet there seems to be few people using it. Has everyone moved on?

Im still using it. But i became very lazy, doing not much at all.

Even if you don't use the game engine for a release you can still use the tools like MED or WED and export your creations to other engines to create old-school levels and 3d models.

Maybe you can create small gameplay ideas faster in Acknex to test them out before transitioning to another engine.

It might also be a good idea to check out the complete 120 AUM collection and Acknex Unlimited for game demos, examples and scripts. A lot of concepts and solutions can be transferred to modern engines. So you don't need to reinvent the wheel. So in that case you're right, there is a wealth of information.

And the most important part is, that you have fun.

I am also using A7/A8 still fom time to time. Still have plans and plots in mind. However its not easy for me to come into the mood of spending hours and hours for Gamestudio. There are so many other nice things in the computer/internet world.

I'm still using it and have plans to complete a couple of games.

I already have seen your games on itch.io can you explain your experience of using 3dgs in 2023 more? On windows 10? 11? What works what doesnt?

Dooley, Games are different - but great!

I have notebook with win10 and PC with win11. All works fine.
And i have more demo projects, but i do not publish them because it have no english subtitles, only rus
I should translate it and share it with the community
