Before I go for an "S" license:

- Is anyone using IB Gateway to trade equities ?

-What version of the Gateway works best?

-Any "undocumented features" (bugs) that I need to work-around?

-Am I correct in assuming that I need to build a "monitor" to watch my activity??

I have connected to IB and downloaded history but I have not yet attempted to trade (in demo)..

Any help / comments would be appreciated...

Hi,

yes I am using Zorro with IB. The latest gateway works. I've found Zorro doesn't reconnect after the daily IBKR restart, which is annoying. Z9 won't download data from IB, it needs to come from Stooq.

IBKR historical data isn't accurate enough to backtest. But that isn't Zorro's problem!

I am. It took some time to dial everything in. But it works great now. My setup is as follows, which avoids the daily restart problem.

- I set IB gateway to auto restart daily at 11:45PM (ET). The gateway automatically shutsdown on Sunday.
- I use IBC to automate the once a week manual login with 2FA FaceID on my iphone with https://github.com/IbcAlpha/IBC. I schedule this to haapen on Monday morning at 9:00AM (ET), before market opens and while I'm having my 2nd cup of coffee.
- I use a daily a windows scheduled task to start my script after market opens
- My scripts calls quit() at 16:30 after market close
- This automatically repeats every day.
- I have been doing this for over a year trading serious dollar amounts

I use paid EODHD for historical data and fundamental data.
I use a custom 3rd party for real-time price data. IB price data is slow, but probably OK if your script only uses a handful of Assets.
I only trade US equities and options
