yes there are hundreds upon hundreds of 3d engines. This one was told to me by a friend so I am lucky. And I took a quick look at huge list just now and non can compair to this. This has the most functionality and looks like the makers are interacting with it's users and are improving this.

The only thing I don't like is that how much it costs to upgrade from (lets say) extra to commercial. You are wasting money unless you go with commercial right away. But besides that fact the prices seem decent.

It also sounds they might update the algrithm (somtin like that spelling) for compiling levels to make them faster. As long as engine keeps up with the future, I like it.

no, you'd be wasting money if you bought the unreal engine...
the cost of upgrading is a simple way of makin a bit of money, so i'm completely fine with the upgrade price (i own com). The new way of compiling is to not compile (except for the lightmaps). It'll run straight into the engine, and Wed will show what the levels will look like in realtime...

I don't know what the limit is on polygons or even if there is one. I know I have acheived more than what the debug panel show (maxes out at 999,999), but I don't know beyond that.

Ignore Matt for now; right or wrong, he's behaiving like an trolls ass and the more you feed it, the more shite that comes out...

DirectX has a limit of 32768 Polys per Model.
There isn't any other limit.
I'd made a animation (look on http://www.spiele-entwicklung.de/3dgs/jack.htm) with over 500.000 polys at the same time. With use a special driver for Stereo3D (www.more3d.com), so there are over 1 Million polys rendered.

@Matt_Aufderheide: Is it a joke?? I can't laught, sorry. You should edit it. The other way is, to find a new provider and a new nickname! It's your choice.
