Also engines can be compaired in polly count,

not really, not anymore... with modern engines and hardware transform there shouldnt be any differnces , unless the engine is written badly.

I auctually just did a test with 20 models with 420 spheres in each. Each sphere had 120 polys. The number of polys per model was 50400. The number of polys on screen was exactly 1,008,000. My FPS was only around 14, but that's pretty good for that many pollys. There wasn't any shader or such attached, but there was a 2px*2px texture applied to each sphere. With a texture of anything normal (256 or 512), the FPS would probably die. So the engine can support a very large number of pollys, but the need isn't there... This is on a GeForce 6800GT and a 2.8GHz processor with ~1024MB DDR.

That is why I am worried about pollies. Also I have learned my comp is quit slow and doesn't handle some things good.

AMD athlon 2800+ (2.08 GHz, acts like 2.8GHz)
512mb ddr ram
ATI radeon 9200 256mb 128 bit PCI

Man I thought these were pretty good specs for the century we live in lol. Damn I need to upgrade my PC in that case . Well anyway, my PC isn't as slow as my win 98

so you saying I got a good comp?

Cause without multi threading it sucks. And yes multi threading is good if you know how to use it.

However, multithreading is only of use if the software supports it, otherwise it is a useless feature. Anyways, your system isn't bad, but I would definitely look to upgrading your videocard, definitely moving from a PCI card to an AGP card (PCI-E would be best if your board supports it).

Multithreading is like 64 bit support: It can even slow down your system if you don't handle it right.

Some developers want to share tasks like AI and physics via Multithreading. But that is future and we should not think of it concerning A6.

well that is what I mean, you gotta know how to use it. I made some C# apps that used it before, but I gave the user an option to use it.

And my system sucks! It came used soo.... and is pci-e better than agp?

And how much will that effect frame rate?

I dont know the specs offhand but i believe PCI-E will be faster than AGP
