Here is the metaball script I have been working on for the past few days plus a published project to show how it looks, here's a screenshot:
Click here to download the published METABALL project!!! Press 1 through 9 to specify the amount of frames in between each vertices-calculation (default is 1) and rightclick+mouse to zoom and leftclick+mouse to rotate camera.
The coding is free to use anywhere and I don't need credit.
The way it works is that it calculates the distance to every other vertex in the other mesh, finds the closest vertex on the other mesh and moves its own vertex closer to the other mesh's closest vertex. Both of them doing this allows for the fluid like appearance but without a weld vertices command and lack of C++ knowledge (which is changing), there is still a seam between the objects. I plan on utilizing this similar idea for creating cloth sometime.
This is just a simple project, don't expect anything fancy!
