I read a thread about some one needing a squirrel..

So I spent two hours on modelling one... i could have textured it and so on... but I don’t want to spend more than two hours on some thing I have no use of (sorry.. maybe some one else can make the unwrapping and the texture and re contribute it? :P)... I don’t even know really why I started modelling it any way... but maybe there is many out there needing a squirrel? ;]... (it is little high poly though.. but maybe easier to remove polygons than actually add them?)

Here it is...



And don’t criticise it because i did not spend that much time on it and i can admit that some things could be done better... but any way... if some one wants a tail more like a cylinder then tell me and maybe i can fix that tomorrow...

Any one may use it if only some one can host it... O.o

I think it looks okay, but yes, try to lower te polycount

well... i will not lower the polygon count .. That is up to the user... the squirrel in re request section had a quiet big amount it self..

Hi Gafgar. That's a nice model.

If I paid paid $50 would you, or someone else finish it, complete with LOD (Down to only a few hundred polies or less), skinned and animated? It'll be free for everyone to use.

how many animations and can i use alpha channels in the skin?
And how many LOD stages?...

Sorry about the delay. I just got back from a trip to Tokyo.

It was Ello's request, so best to ask him. I think just a reguar game model with one texture map and basic animations would do. Run, walk, eat nuts, climb a tree and whatever. It should look professional in any case (as your model does).

Wing has sent me a PM saying that he has done some more work on it, but I haven't had a chance to check yet. Wing, please post it here.

It looks a bit scarry to me, especially the front leg deformity.

Anyway, I'll let Ello be the art director and I'll front up the cash when he's happy. The model will be available to everyone.

lol that is a lil scary lookin. Very nice model tho. I realy didnt like the tail however... Plus added lots of extra polies... So I cut it off and tryed to make one of my own. Plus tryed mergin a few vertices to lower poly count.... Got it down to 1382. Tho im sure someone else could do a better job. Anyways heres what i did with it... Didnt even try skinning it.



If anyone wants me to upload it just let me know... Thanks gafgar for you nice model and A.russel for your kindness

Edit: Thru a crappy skin together real fast to see what it looked like. Heres the results

Well.. Okay... it looks like you all are using the bad unwrapping that comes with the model.. The texture i stretched badly on the legs.

Well.. i can give it a try... do you want photo textures or painted? (painted relatively good then)

Squirrels climbs in the same way as they run.. :P (it could make it whole pretty interesting to do a game that way ^^... every wall are ground to you… )
