I dont know if this idea came up already a couple of times, but it would be a good idea to make 3ds format fully supported by the engine en the editors...

What do you guys think?

YEAH That's a great idea, than you can add your models directly out of max to 3dgs without losing quality

5 stars.... at least one freaking format should be 100% supported and wich is better then .3ds

Maybe it's a good idea to learn first what features Gamestudio already has before posting here.

While 3DS lacks too many features for being useful for a 3D engine, it's a common format and supported for importing nonanimated objects.
