Hi! Currently I have the 3D GameStudio 6.22 Warez version, but I am soon going to buy the "Extra" original version from www.3dgamestudio.com. But first I wanna make sure that I can use 3ds max together with the application (so that there is no struggelling). So here's my questions: 1. Can I use "hit test" with models from 3ds max? 2. Can I import the model with materials and textures (I can due to the manual), but it asks for a .tga file, which I don't have any.. I just have usual .bmp or .jpg files as the texture. Plz help me so that I can buy the software, and plz only answer if you have a "real" answer. -WHATS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE STANDART AND EXTRA VERSION?- Thanks/ Robin

I'm not sure about 3DS Max as I've never seen nor used it.

You can use BMP files. You can make TGA files. If you don't have such software, download GIMP. GIMP is free (GNU public license) and it can save in nearly any format, except DDS as it seems. If all you see is for a TGA file, check the drop down menu for other options such as to include BMP. JPG files don't work with 3DGS, but you can simply open the JPG files and save them as BMP, PCX, or TGA.

-WHATS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE STANDART AND EXTRA VERSION?-
See the chart here for this and other editions as well. Many features of higher editions (such as LOD, mirrors, dynamic shadows, and physics) can all be faked with wise thinking of coding it. Good luck and be sure to toss the warez version crushed up in the cemetary 1000 miles underground.

No Physichs Engine? No Bone Animation? Everything is gone in the Extra version.. I can't create a "real" game if I don't have that stuff... I don't want to create old school graphics games...
Anyone that know about 3ds max... Can I create a character with different movement stances for walking, jumping and so on and then use it in GameStudio so that I can make it with the Extra version? If I can, then where do I learn how to do It so that It works from 3ds to GameStudio?
I have also converted the texture to .tga format. So when I import the .3ds file into MED, I also choose the texture .tga file...It works, but the texture is totally missplaced on the object.. How do I align it correctly?
Thanks/

ok. The thing is that I can't use a poly limit.... cause almost all my models excceds the limit (already tried), second I know how to use 3ds max (not GameSpace).
I noticed one more thing, I applied the texture in MED and it looked pretty good now, but when I imported it into WED and played the game. The texture were really bright and I could look through the model :S
What's wrong?

The warez version is buggy. 6.20.2, of which the warez version was based on, was a beta release not available to the general public.
Ya know, why don't you download the trial version. Throw the warez version in the trash and try out the trial version. I don't know what limitations there are in functionality for the trial version compared to the Extra edition such as whether or not you can import 3DS models.

Yes, but I have the warez version 6.20.2 with a cracked 6.22 patch. The problem with the trail version is that it is limited to 30 days only. I would do everything in the world to get the "3D Gamestudio A6/Extra" version and a copy of "GameSpace 1.6", but right now I haven't got the money to purchase these (especially not GameSpace). Actually I have found a crack to GameSpace Light that makes you able to use unlimited polygons (but it still don't work to save as the GameStudio format). Hope I can buy them in the future (cause nothing breaks original software) Think I'll have to use and learn GameSpace Light and the 3D GameStudio Warez (and Trail) for some time until I have the money.

Well, while saving up, you can write your design document, which, in short, is a detailed plan of your game. Even make maps of your levels as BMP files functioning as plans. Then, when you buy, you can then take your plans into action and build your game. While waiting, you can fine-tune your plans and fix any anomolies.
Also, you don't have to start out with Extra (or the higher editions). If your budget doesn't permit a $90 purchase, go with standard edition. You can later upgrade when you get the money.

ThePainKiller, in [url=http://www.coniserver.net/ubbthreads/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/633378/Main/631151/#Post633378]this thread[url], you said you bought 3DGS from a seller. But then in here, you said you got a 6.20.2 warez version of 3DGS and applied a patch to a warez version. Whatever you do, it won't work.
