all i get when i export a txt file to list frame names in a blank txt file ??

anyone got this work what do i have to do to get it working ??

also is there a way to delete every second file in a wdl file ??

Open Frame Manager, select your frames, then click Export to ASC, and check "Export Frame Names" for exporting frame names.

And please do not post technical questions to the Bug Forum.

ok I'm lost I'm using Med Version 6.24
Frame manager ??? where is that ??
looked everywhere and check the shortcut list as well nothing lists a " frame manager" ??

under tools -> Export to ASC BUT there's a no Export frame Names Option to click ??

I feel this is a bug due to if i click the Export Frame
File-> export->Export keyframes.txt
nothing is created but a one kb file no information in the file
this seem like a bug to me ??


and if the help you seem to trying be give me it's isn't word very well
I now feel I'm using the wrong App or the wrong version ??
YOU have not helped me at all, just confused me even more ??????


Can someone please tell me a plain simple way how to export a frame name list so i I don't have to manual rename the frames in my animation file please ?

I can confirm this bug. When the first public beta came out for 6.40.0, this was one of the first bugs I discovered bug and was reported almost 6 months ago. To reproduce:

1. Create a new model and add a cube.
2. Go to the frame manager (near the bottom of the edit menu), and click on the "add frames" button.
3. Give some test name to it and choose some number of frames greater than 1.
4. Export to ASCII (I left everything at the default).
5. Open the TXT file that is created in some text-editting program like Notepad. All I got was this:

Frame: 3 0 "Test 2"
Frame: 4 0 "Test 3"
Frame: 5 0 "Test 4"







The positions and the mesh are not saved at all as with 6.31.4. The only thing given are just the frame names. It's otherwise a completely blank file. A similar case happens when using the "save to ASC" button in the skin manager - it's just a blank file without any positions and the such, just a single short line of about 20 characters. I reported this in 6.40.0 and mentioned it again when 6.40.2 came out since it wasn't fixed. Even clear until 6.40.5, it's not fixed. I'm beginning to wonder if Conitec even cares to fix MED and get it more up to date. Some bugs reported for it (even that crash from passing 16 groups) seem to take several months in order to get fixed. There's still the texture display bug in the skin edittor I reported since 6.40.0 that still exists, and I'm pretty sure there are others that I reported since 6.40.0 came out that still haven't been fixed yet....

Ullillila, may I ask you not to post a "me too" to any bug report? This is only confusing users when you're talking about a different problem. Please post only when you have some information for that very bug. BTW for exporting the mesh to a text file, just use File -> Export -> Model to ASC or -> Frame to ASC.

t4d: You need the current Gamestudio version.

well here's another bug in frame manager
I have a 342 frames of animation I select every second frame ( every odd frame number ) then press delete frames

I should have 171 frames but i have 224 ???

why is it so ??

JCL I'm a Pro user this is the very first support i have asked for
yet your not being helpfull in any way ??? =(

I did help the user, some anyway. I gave him/her the process to doing it. The current MED version is 6.814. As to what you're getting (the case of 224 instead of 171), that I'm not sure on.

t4d: I'm glad to learn that you are a Pro user and would have found the solution for your problem without my help.

If you nevertheless still want help with your new problem: Can you confirm that you are now definitely using the latest version, 6.40? Can you delete the nondeleted frames afterwards, or can't you delete them at all?

I assume that this problem also has meanwhile solved itself, and thus move the thread out of the bug forum. Please post again in the "Ask Conitec" section and answer the above questions when you still have problems deleting frames.

yeah updating to the latest helped
but I still get odd behavior deleteing frames using the frame manager ..?
