Makes me hope that I can learn that fast, too.
Although, I'm more interested in 3D.
I will not start any 2D project soon.

Then you should try the 30 day demo of Torque Game Engine. It's a bit confusing how to start first, cause you will realize that there are no editors in the folder. you have to do it ingame.

Just a tip, if you might go with Torque one day, and want to use shader, don't buy Torque Game Engine Advanced. There is a free addon for Torque Game Engine, that gives you some nice shaders (water, bloom, HDR, etc). It will be cheaper

Even if you want to learn 3d games programming it might be smart to start with the TGB as Kiyaku did. The tutorials are more easy and you learn the concept and the scripting language more faster. After that switching to TGE is more easy and you feel comfortable and familiar with most of it.

Kiyaku: I am happy that you have found such a great motivation to work at this game. I am sure it will become a good and unique game very fast.

I think if you add an interface - keep it veeeeeery simple. It would go with the overall look of the game. maybe jut one black image with grass growing on top of it, and then white letters in it... or something.

like... angela very small and a number in front of it? Or make angela with a broken wing, then with a ripped body, and then without head

i was thinking about displaying 3 angela heads in the left top corner to symbolizes her life. I think that should be enough to show people how many lifes you have

I like it without any interface. Make the planet grin is a good idea.Or you could make her bleed leaving blood on the planet. I think that fits your style and isn't too enoying.

Well if I could choose again I'd choose without interface, but I thought it was about not showing how many times you got hit at all. When its somehow visible by implementing it in the gameplay thats fine as well.
