Started a new project called EOF 3D. As the topic implies it is a 3D engine coded into a single codefile (readme, install, lisence and stuff are included in the file as well). Lets see how far I get with one file .

Beaware that the project might be postponed, stopped or resumed at will. The engine is open source (LGPL) so I'm not necessarily getting any money for this at the moment. The engine should also be totally crossplatform and is developed on Ubuntu Linux.

Now as that has been said...
I'll post new feature notices to this thread as often as possible. I'm developing this engine at the moment under my own name so there is no team behind this.

Time for a development shot, the project is at starting stages so the shot only shows a empty window.

No specific limiation in window resolution in windowed mode.

Nice, though I think the openGL library's are somewhat limited this could turn out nice, considering your previous work.

BASIC programmers never die, they GOSUB and don't RETURN.

I might be wrong, but don't you think you should find a better forum for this kind of stuff? This tool neither supports content creation nor publishing with game studio.

good luck

Inestical is doing stuff with the engine at the moment and I don't have much stuff left to do with it before inestical finishes up with some stuff so I thought of doing something meanwhile . And we changed the name of the engine, dunno exactly when will we announce the "new engine" yet...

BeOS/ZETA port? Humm I don't have that OS at the moment, but maybe I could look into it... Just have to make sure that the OS supports the necessary libs and get a guy who actually uses the OS in order to test and compile the engine. Then it could maybe be possible.

At the moment the file contains 2035 lines and takes 56.5 KB. Currently it cointans some math objects (vectors, matrix, blah blah...) and image loading support. The following formats are supported through freeimage lib: bmp, tga, png, jpg, pcx and dds. The image object also supports rendering them to the framebuffer.

Here's a shot of the image object in action (two images loaded and rendered to the framebuffer):
