Thougth of putting some sound in . Animation? What kind of project? Humm probably doing animations a bit later... Thougth of making the official first release of the first version of the engine (codename happiikae) after I have added a few features, made a few nice scenes -> shots and written some documentation.

Atm I have some work and other stuff going on so EOF3D development most likely won't be so fast anymore at the moment.

A little update after a long while . Some time ago I decided to start rewriting whole EOF3D. Even though the rewrite is still not completed I have been able to throw in some new features. Now the materials contain much more stuff to tweak and dynamic spot lights are supported also (dynamic spot lights not tested yet). The biggest new feature is multiple materials per mesh and unlimited amount of mesh buffers per entity (well the limit is the maximum size of an unsigned integer, but that is too huge to be exceeded). So you could even store a whole level into an entity, though dunno why anyone would want to do that... Well anyway here is a shot:



So should I still continue with the rewrite or is it kind of pointless? I thought if I could make a some kind of toolset/python bindings for this engine after it was completed and then release the whole thing for free for commercial and non-commercial projects (open source).

the most interesting point in the engine, is that it has more features than Rabbit Engine, or the newer engine I'm working on alone atm.

Anyways, I suggest to people give a try to this (if you have compiler, editor etto will to do some research). The engine gets better and better all the time. Even I can't keep up what he is doing... He ain't human, I say.

Well generally it doesn't have as many features as Rabbit Engine I think. RE has some features that EOF3D doesn't and EOF3D has some features that RE doesn't. Have to work on the rewrite some more to get it more evenly lined up with RE .

Btw for those who wonder where to get EOF3D: The old website aint online anymore, and I won't probably be officially releasing EOF3D before it becomes a somewhat decent engine. And perhaps I'll also do some tools for it before the official release, not to mention python bindings. But if people want I could upload the source for download .
