You may remember me from a while back... or not. I made some impressive screenshots of action rpgs, then sort of disappeared for 2 years.

I'm back, I have enough time to do a free game, and I'm gonna do one. Although it'll only be in my free time.

It's called Red Skies. It's an action rpg set in the same vein of Deus Ex, and it has the same basic idea of Fallout.

You're one of the first super soldiers with Nano-technology in the 2040's. You're called into action during a war, and during that war... Nuclear war happens. You return to post-apocalyptic America.

The basic premise isn't to kill anything, restore world order... It's to basically survive, in a world full of mutants, and people who want to kill you at every site.

This forum also says 'Showcases, work in progress.' Doesn't really mention anything about screenshots, etc...

I've had this idea for a while, when I begin working on it tonight, I'll post screens.

I guess you could say this post is a work in prograss as well.

I'm still trying to figure out how I want to do the in game thing. I don't want the icons to be like Deus Ex, but I also don't want them to be drab.

I was once a pro at gamestudio (though it took me awhile to learn), it's not gonna take me awhile to draw up a level. You'll have pics of a menu screen, or a random level of the game by tonight, or tommorow.

Keep in mind, this is a free game, so I'm using alot of pre-made textures...

BTW, you don't play directly when the accident occurs. You end up finding a bunker and living with a group of scientists/soldiers for 30 years it happens (Think Terminator 3).

Your decisions will determine the outcome of the game. Basically, which side your gonna be on. You go to a group ov villagers at the remains of New york city, they all have lasers, weapons, could help you alot. But they are a starving village, and eat their own when they turn 15.

DO you kill them all, let it happen, or join in?

Yes, the game won't be pretty. It's gonna show the truth of what really happens when man is starving to death.

showcase means you have something to show us. An early screen, a model, a texture, a video of a cool code of code, trad sketchs.
WIP means that you have an idea and have started developing it already.
The prob is everyone would start posting their "I came up with an idea one night but haven't really got anything to show for it yet" if they treated showcase the same way.
This is more a morbius thread.

Soz for sounding a little rude, I just like to see work in showcase 1 and finished pieces ready for release in showcase 2, not just unformed thoughts.

Oh well I look forward to seeing a screen soon as if your project goes further I do like the concept
