Hey. I have been back for a couple of weeks. and I began to work on this sword for a new game idea I had. Here is a screenshot....

I am not done texturing the model yet, but feel free (and please do) give feedback on what you think of the model. The weapon was inspired by clouds bike in Final Fantasy Advent Children.

XD... Cool model^^...

I don't think it's supposed to be "realistic", ello... like those war craft swords that are 3 times the size of the character. I think it looks nice. It will look a lot better skinned, like all models... what's the game you're making??

Well the game I am making doesn't really have a name yet. But It takes a big turn away from all those generic RPG's (cough:final fantasy:cough) with the sporadic young hero whose destiny is to save the world. Instead, in my game the main character, Tatsuragi, or "Tatsu" for short, is actually trying to become the strongest being in the universe and will stop at nothing to obtain true power.

I have the unique sword design because Tatsu built his own weapon using lost technology. I used motorcycles and card as a very heavy influence. The reason being is simple. I HATE having to always buy new weapons and crap in every rpg. So I asked myself, "what if the player could keep the same weapon but always upgrade it by adding new parts to make their own custom weapon?"

The player can go for pure power (Muscle Cars) or amazing looks (Tuners). This add a unique and personal connection not only to the player, but to the weapon. The sword is powered by these gems called Terra Cores, that gain power by taking the souls of fallen enemies. You only start off with a shard of the core. By collecting enough souls, you can complete the Terra Cores (Inspired by Inuyasha) and have them forever.

You can swap the cores to give the sword different attributes and effects. Thats about All im gonna say now. I think it might be a little too much info. Oh well... So what do you guys think so far????

Oh and here is another screen to give a bit more perspective.

Nice model exile
It has a very specific shape and unique look, btw if you look at the sword from the bottom perspectif, then it seems to look like a motercycle

Cheers

@Exile:
Nice model (very detailed), would really like to see that sword skinned.

But what I like most is the idea for your weapon system, hope you stick to this idea and finish it!

@Frazzle: read his post he mentioned the influence from motorcycles

EDIT:
Because this is off-topic I'll just edit into this post, just for you frazzle
