hey everyone! i'm trying the locoweeds multiplayer tutorial. now i am at the point, to test with two players. i start the server, but the client doesn't find it. must the two pcs be connectet with lan? i have them connected with a router, could this be the problem? i start the server with command line: -sv -cl, the client with: -cl. i've tried to start the client with: -cl -ip and my ip, but it doesn't work..... someone a fix for that problem?

Are they connected over Lan or wan

wtf is wan??? do you mean wireless?

edit: cool, now it works some way: the server can choose his character and the client can log in. but the client can't choose a character nor do something else... i search the problem withg beep() but if i won't find something, i post again^^

Lan = local area network
wan = wide area network for example the internet

ohh, now i understand^^
i think they are connected with lan, but internet too! i mean: if the router isn't connected to the internet, the pc's can communicate. but i can let them communicate over the internet tooo

1) Kannst du die Rechner über Netzwerkumgebung -> arbeitsgruppencomputer sehen?
falls nicht liegt es an deinem Netzwerkeinstellungen

2) Ist die firewall aus?


Sie laufen über wlan (kabellos) oder?

1. ich kann die pcs sehn
2. firewall war aus (ich hab sie angemacht, und dann ging es^^)
3. sie sind mitn kabel verbunden (nicht wireless)
