Hi folks

I'm in the process of creating a racing game for my son. I'm at the point where i need to add background details.

I created a grandstand and spectators with MED. I did something wrong. When the game runs and the grandstands/spectators display the game play slows to a crawl. When the gransdstands/spectators are off the screen, game play is normal speed.

I'm guessing I used too many polygons.

The question is, how do I create a non interactive background for a game? Right now, I've got an oval track in a big cube - boring. I'd like to add grandstands and spectators.

If I can't do it by creating models with MED, how can I do it?

Mark

Where can I find more info about incorporating sprites in my game?

In the manual.

Quote:

For an animated sprite in PCX, BMP, or TGA format, place the single animation frames beneath each other in the image (as in a horizontal film strip), and give the number of frames by adding a '+n' to the file name - see the example explo+7.pcx in the template folder.

See also entity.frame and entity.next_frame.

If you want an animated crowd you can place several images like said above (you need the images so you can eventually print from a short film at diferent times).

Also in the aum or resources links probably you will find a good example of that, i dont know for sure. If you search the forums you will find information about that too.

Hope it helps.
