The book was meant to be (and is) a college text book - hence the entry level material. A lot of colleges across the nation are scrambling to build some kind of game design program.

I think if you look at it as a tool to teach introductory game design it probably makes more sense then looking at it as a comprehensive guide to the software. It does give a good introduction and gets Gamestudio and game design into the classroom. It's very hard to get a college to adopt a course that teaches a software but does not have a textbook. Conitec had a hand in the book - at least on the editing level to get the software utilized more in a formal classroom setting.

Maybe it will provide a gateway for more students to find out about game design and this software in particular.
