If I have a model in Maya, and there are two textures (say one on the door and one on the wall) is there a way to make both of them attach within MED. Since the door and wall are merged into one object I need to know if assigning two textures will fill it out.

Or is it a one texture per object story?

Thanks!

Well as far as I know models can have multiple skins ( that is, for Commercial - perhaps not with standard or extra? )

depends on your version and the maya exporter. a6 can handle multi-textured objects since 6.4. the maya exporter is older though, maybe it bakes the different textures to one, but i doubt it uses 3dgs' multi-texture feature. alternatively, you could export your model to *.x (or *.3ds, if it's not animated) and import it, the textures and materials are preserved.

Nope...

3DGS doesn't have multi-texture really... It's possible to make two textures skin, but isn't possible to use more than one map channel.
When you export a model with two textures 256x256 each one, the exporter creates a combo texture like 512x256...

So, if you have two textures, export two mdls... (unfortunately)!

this is an exporter problem, not a 3dgs problem. try to export to MS DirectX *.x and import it to 3dgs, and your textures should be still separated.
