And keep in mind that what R* can get away with would SINK most other companies...
Actually it hurt R* a lot; millions of dollar to recall the product, on going lawsuits, and their stock holders are taking action against them. R* may not be in business next year because of it and even if they do manage to survive, it will most likely be under very different management.
On the other hand, Rainbow Six 3 had links to porno sites in their game, but Ubisoft got away with that. There were hidden "features" in some of the Sim games as well, but MAXIS is still with us today.
