I need help getting bones animation to work. Now, before everyone jumps on me for not reading the tutorial, I actually did. I have no clear idea of which version of GameStudio this is, but I think it is Commercial version, which I am sure contains Bones.

I paid a considerable amount of money for this, so it is rather frustrating to have the bones animation toolbar, but not be able to push the buttons. The "Create Bones" button is grayed in, and gives no response when clicked. (That means I can't place bones.) I have tried reading a variety of tutorials on this topic, but none seem to solve my problem, as I still can only do basic animation, not bones.

Read the manual...
Ok ,if it is the commercial version you have bones
You should activate the bone mode , the tool bar on the top , a sort of cross

Yeah. you have to activate bone mode before you can play with bones. You can do that by pressing the correct button...

When bone mode is chosen, you look for a similar icon at the bottom center (red reticle with a green box around it) to create a bone. The rest you should be able to pick up on your own or read about in the manual.

Wow... My sadness at my stupitidy knows no bounds. I guess I'll go cry somewhere. <sobs>

But thanks for your help. I can't believe I didn't figure that out.

If I am posting, it probably means I am asking a question. Or faking my knowledge by agreeing with somebody else.

Awww.

Don't cry.

Cheer up.

Seriously though, there are worse things to be naive about. Personally, I'm trying not to feel totally overwhelmed about everything I need to learn in order to make a game. That's when I do a nice, short tutorial and learn one or two things. When I get tired of the constraints of a tutorial, I just mess around and see what different things do.

Eventually I might know enough to actually do something...
