Yeah. I had that problem, too. As best I can tell, it just didn't come with guard.mdl. My suggestion would be to use cbabe.mdl instead. You should have that one, and you should be able to apply whatever action you want to. Sure, your player model and your guard will look the same, but it is no real problem. Or, if you want to, just stop after the next couple of sections. If you are planning on writing your scripts yourself, then you should do the C-Sript tutorial and forget about the parts that require the template project.
