Minigames are a good way to avoid what you call "Developing Block Syndrome" - you are generally finished with them as soon as you get bored. Plus, you get to try out a bunch of things that you can use for later, bigger projects. So yes, go ahead and make a few minigames! You'll likely get more replies than I did, so you don't have to worry about feedback:)*

If you want your game to be a little more "unique", you might also consider throwing ideas you liked from different games together.

I did this for my first "Experimental Game", and it turned out pretty well. Generally, letting thngs react on music is still a kind-of-new concept that still feels fresh, so hurry up and use it!

A few other things I've learnt and a great thread can be found here.
Consider it the lessons of a semi-successful experiment. Plus, there are also a bunch of fun games for you to try out. And if you comment on the blog, everybody wins! Horray!

Perhaps this post will get me points for originality at least.

Check out Dungeon Deities! It's amazing and will make you happy, successful and almost certainly more attractive! It might be true!
