The chronicles from former middle age till now also show that mankind's population doubles every 40-50 years. The critical point is so near that humans will destroy forests very quickly. Fishes from the seas will be harvested until they are all gone and oxygen might become rare in the future.
This is only the beginning. If mankind will not solve the growth of population then they will destroy the nature for sure even if today's impact is still not critical.
