I wonder why there is no response from Josiah. Did he post this demo and went into vacation right after this?

valve prob grabbed him and now he's rich thanks to his portal code. Make it opensource before they buy you out lol. Thanks again for the cool demo,

Matt

Hi Frank, No vacation, just a day job
Thanks for your offer, your stuff is the best! I really appreciate all the nice
comments from everyone. My wife says I am wasting my time, but I think time you
enjoy wasting is not wasted time!

I have some ideas on where I want to take this, but they may be tough to realize
with GS. For now I am going to continue to develop it and see where it goes.

I fixed some minor bugs in the demo, the player even has a head now! Still
not sure why the bullets collision dosent work 100% of the time (thanks Matt),
probably has to do with the wall space check.

Not two, not one.

*EYE TWITCHES*

MUST... KNOW.. HOW?!?!?!

Please at least give me a hint as to how you did it? All my results are failing. I'm using a 1024^2 tex size too, but it is passed through a pixel shader to render it on the model.

Is this using a "portal", as in from view options. Similar to the mirror code?

Well, I'm getting closer. I realized that I need to use the camera's "portal" options [ironic in a way] instead of simply setting the views x,y,z,pan, tilt, roll where needed.

So now I'm working with this. Figuring out what needs to be assigned where. I have no help/documentation on this, so I'm pretty much just trying random things and wandering around until I find the answer...

ANY HELP/TIPS WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED! I need to figure this out...

Perhaps I should have waited till my game was further developed to post the
demo. I have no wish to suddenly be in a race with others obsessed to develop
the same game with Game Studio and who obviously have much more time than I do
to do so. It would be a huge waste of my time.

xXxGuitar511, please understand, you are very talented and I like you, but I
have already vested a LOT of time and research into this project, or I
would freely supply my method to everyone.
