I'm not sure what I can say about this (NDA and all), I can tell you that I am excited about it!

More will be posted here as it becomes public.

The most important thing I can say is that 3DGameStudio is still committed to the indie game developer. We have been from the start. We are not going to add crazy restrictions or price ourselves like Unreal 3.

Hmmmm... when ever a post ends with "Don't Panic", I do.

Can't wait to hear the skinny on this and gauge the fallout!

This is nothing to worry about, its just a normal business process. I'm not free to give details at this time, but they will be announced in the upcoming months.

We are not owned by Atari or something like that. Our team will stay the same (although new developers might join us later this year), and the prices and license models of Gamestudio won't change.

Just let us know if it will change, so I can buy A7 pro, was going to buy pro this time around but I don't have the money yet.

Hopefully will in 2 months time

PLUS this is great, if only Atari could help with the development of the engine

Hm! It would be interesting if Conitec licensed their technology to Atari, who in turn set up something to compete with Garage Games-- offering the design tools, engine and community paired up with an online sales and distribution system.

I've always admired this about GG's deal (except the huge cut that they take).

So this might be good news for indies, hm especially if they port and try to make some kind of cross-platform online sale system.. (doubtful of that part though)

Wow, this does sond really interesting.

I noticed the Atari logo on the Lite-C about screen the other day and just assumed that a progammer from Atari did some freelance work and coded some of the things in Lite-C. Seems it's much more interesting than this!

I think it would be great if there could be some major development with atari, getting the exposure and new developers will do nothing but help us. I have always thought that 3dgs marketing plan was weak, this can only be a good thing according to my gut instincts.

I'm guessing this is a joke.
But, no, there are no plans to port 3DGameStudio to the 2600 or Jaguar (at this time ).
