Ok sorry if this is a bit full on, but I have a couple of questions, actually I was debating if I should upgrade my A6pro to A7 and began to trawl a few threads to help make my mind up...when I stumbled into this thread... and I have to say I am a little concerned.
I don't expect a concrete answer to this question either, really I just want to at least voice the concern here

I actually work full time for one of the largest games developers in the world as a senior designer and in the last 2 years we have moved completely towards our own in house engine technology. A large percentage of this was due to providers of 'licensed' engine technology being bought out by larger firms and as a knock on affect, the support for the engine tech is stopped. In some cases even the legal right to use the technology.
I am not saying that this is going to happen, or that Conitec intensions are other than presented here. It just sends ripples of uncertainty through the community and certainly worries me a little.
I hope that the relationship with Atari brings with it a great future for Conitec and the Gamestudio community, maybe even Atari will spot a few of the great ideas for IP demonstrated here over the years and even help a few of us turn our game concepts into blockbuster sellers.
Either way, it's certainly going to get a lot more interesting here on in
