Antialias is in beta for A7 Commercial and up: Quote:
The d3d_antialias variable can be used to activate full scene antialiasing before the video device is opened.
I think it would be better for the gile[s] developers to create an exporter for MDL7 or WMP or whatever. I pointed them to some threads, and they're aware, but they have a few other things on their plate before they would do it (if they did it).
Personally, I think Conitec should forget about gile[s] and overhaul static lightmapping from the ground up and give us something that would "force" us (because it's so great) to use their method and not go to a 3rd party. And, it should work with mesh and blocks and not just one or the other.
As for Newton, ventilator is working on a Lite-C DLL for it I think or maybe it's done...I haven't been keeping up. Unless it's that much better than ODE, I don't think it should be replaced. The reason Newton is/was appealing for for non-pro users, but the pro only physics trickled down a bit, so Newton has lost some luster unless, as I said before, it's just that good.

I second that, I would like to see a slider that can be ramped up from low to super high resolution.

Here are my features that should be in a7:
1. Realtime softshadows 2. DX10 and shader modell 4.0 3. Physics like Havok (for example) 4. a Rag-Doll system
Everything is possible, just Do it!

@orange Brat -that's good news about anti-aliasing being added. Thanks for the info Yes Newton really is that much better than ODE -it has better important features now such as swept collisions and updates with greater software performance to equal Ageia/Havok are coming, as well as support for hardware acceleration on GPUs and mult-threading in the future. ODE is no longer competitive with latest Newton/Ageia/Havok and is unlikely to ever catch-up. As for Gile[s], imo Conitec shouldn't waste time trying to re-invent the wheel. Quite frankly I think it would take ages for them to match the visual quality/features of gile[s] as I've not seen a light mapper as good as it outside of the AAA engines.

FROM BETA PAGE: The lightmap resolution can now be adjusted in mesh mode with the slider Lightmap Scale. Please note that this mode currently doesn't work together with Merge Across Leafs and causes artifacts when the resolution is too low. Set it at 2.0 or above to achieve good results. ----------------
This is GREAT will download beta to test
