HI all!
as my username suggests i'm a noob to Gamestudio and especially the physics part.. I'm making a small car sim and tried using Newton.. probleM!!!!

when the car is at low speeds it turns fine but at medium speeds it drifts and at high speeds it spins out of control.. I thought it was a problem with my model and implementation but even in the example level the car behaves similarly.. changing the values of mass, suspension etc has little or no effect on this..

is this normal.. i mean is there any way (using Newton itself) to make it behave like in, say GTA, where the car turns but does not drift, or is it back to good ol' player_drive?

Thanks in advance!

keep messing with the parameters...

...mainly the tires friction.

you have one problem
that Newton, not work for car games, i suppose, because i have to do this effect in code, ok? that's my suggestion for you, because i don't use Newton for car games, ok...

Newton works great for car games, you just have to set it up properly...

If you open the wheel's event function, you can adjust it's friction for the tires (lateral & longitudinal). This will effect how well the tires grip the ground, for speeding/brakeing, as well as drifting/rollling)
