Hey all,
Our team:
- Caleb Sawtell (3D Artist)
- Israel Storey (Texture Artist)
- Sam Prebble (me, Programmer and Project Lead)
have been working on a 3D arcade space shooter called SX-13 (we are still thinking about the name). The game is based around a series of astroid fields that must be cleaned out of an alien virus that is spreading around the universe. We haven't thought of a proper storyline at the moment but we have some screenshots to show you (more coming on the way). These screenshots are from our Pre-Alpha. All is from gameplay:

(We do have a hud but its been turned off in this version for presentation purposes)

So far we are creating enemies that will be encountered in the game but we are over half way complete thats for sure. We plan to have the game finished in a month (or at least at the beta stage). It might not be a lot of varriation to show at the moment but this was all I could snap from our alpha that I got a hold of
Hope to hear ya feedback soon

-Sam (aka, Bright)

The effects, models and background which is probably a sphere fit great in the outer-space scene feeling !! The storyline I'm not commenting on right now, I'll wait for that until the beta version I hope the HUD looks as nice as the screens you've posted which I'm quite confident in ^^ But I hope you're going to include some planets which are visible while traveling between the asteroid fields. Can't wait to play the beta version when released
Btw, are you still working on Grass'O'Matic ?? Yeah I know I ask that every time you post something but I just got to
know

Cheers

Thanks for your feedback guys. The planets are visible in all the maps (except for a couple). The version I have on me that I took the screenshots from has a distant planet that gets closer as time goes by, then you fly along side of it (like most planets in the game).
I'll post some more up close screenshots tomorrow when I get ahold of the actual game instead of just this EXE I nabbed for a presentation.

As for Grass'O'Matic, production has kind of slowed down since Seed-It came and kinda kicked its butt. I'm thinking about making a new GOM all together, something different from the version I showed screenies from last year, but it'll be way better trust me

Cheers

i feel an inflationary production on space games in tha last few months. your shots feature great asteroid shadows and cool effects, esp. the guns, though the ship looks uninspired and the flyby-particles look way too big for my taste.

Oke, I probably didn't payed great attention to the planets ^^
I'll be waiting with little patience for the new screens you're going to post tomorrow
Btw, Seed-It is indeed a huge competition for GOM but regarding your reply it sounds you won't leave it that way

Cheers

I agree with maglat it needs more color, other then that it looks great.

Wow, the blue effect on the fourth screen is awesome ! Other pics are great too, and i think the overall color and gamma are nice, after all it's empty space, it's supposed to be dark with very contrast lights
