------------------------------------------------------------------

Can 3DGS be used for making Playstation games ?
A lot of people only seem to consider X-Box.

playstation has the same answer as wii which has the same answer as xbox.

or at least i assume so -- the only problem would really be the openGL, but wii was used as an example so playstation should.

I've answered this question over a dozen times in the last 7 years, so I'm not going into details here (do a search). But I would like to point out that switching to OpenGL would probably be the easiest problem to solve.

The hardest problem remains licensing. Even if A7 used OpenGL and took advantage of the Cell processor, you wouldn't be able to touch it unless Sony gives you permission to.

I've seen this question asked and answered by JCL so many times

Even when you are using XNA, you have to buy a special license just to get the parts for testing it on your XBox. It's expensive, and not really worth the effort IMO. Even once you get a game, you've got to find someone willing to publish it (Very expensive on console license)...

lol Sony would NEVER even think of letting indie game developers touch their hardware. They're very mean when it come to copyrights, licensing, etc... (they wouldn't even let me use screen shots that I took of GT4 for a review), plus some of the people that made the PS3 are completely insane! I read some of their ideas before it come out that would have destroyed the sales (example a game would work on the system it was registered to and no other, stupid). I'm glad Ken Katagari stepped down as CEO lol.

Anyways I sound like a hypocrite bashing Sony when I love my PS3, PSP, Bean, headphones, and I'm savin for a Sony D-SLR camera. Well they know quality at least lol.
