it is a remake of zelda 1 (NES), but this is, once again, a sacrilege...

Ah, I found out whats wrong now there are two Zelda's for NES, I never knew! So the very first zelda for DOS was the very first zelda from nintendo, but a remake. And the second zelda was the one I owned for NES; "Adventure of Link", Just like Clayborg said. I should read posts better. @Firo: Yea thats the old zelda I played some time ago, I remember again . @Devon: Any progress on the game?

Sorry for taking such a long time to reply, havent been on the forum in a few days... ive been really busy, especially with the game Lol... wow lots of discutions on the jumping topic But ive desided that there will be no jump.. not even rocks feather... simply because the most im doing is either jumping off cliffs... and i dont even know if ill do that... I WONT be using a cartoon shader, cant seem to get it to work, and i dont think it would look good with this game anyway... Zelda Classic is just a remake of Zelda1, created by armagedon games, so you can pretty much recreate it to your likings. They made their editor and just redid the whole game with it. So, NO, there isnt a zelda 1 for Dos, simply the same game, remade as an editor. Thanks everyone for your words. Feedback... @ Frazzle: Thanks for your words, and your advice, however, I had added in real time grass sprites before you mentioned it and i wont be changing the texture resolutions. I think It gives it a good cartoon look... and the camera will not be changed. I like the way it works... Thanks tho @ Spike: Quote:
this whole scene was NOWHERE in a link to the past... i know this game in and out and this scene is not from the game...
i wont comment the rest, because i dont comment blasphemy...
Its only a test level... besides... i dont think im going to remake the accaull Zelda 3... its far to much work for an indy game. I've desided to make my own game with my own quests, more weapons / sheilds, and much much more...
also, I really dont understand how you can call this blasphemy... Please, enlighten me...
@ TheExpert: Link is and has been the perfect size... it might be that he is adult Link, and not young Link thats confusing you...
@ DeKO_Mania: Thanks I've fixed a fwe things from your advice... link no longer just walkes back... he steps back, and blocks with his sheild. Link also moves forward while attacking now. And as ive already said, no jump...
Updates on the game...
+ There are now enemies that you can kill... (Dekubabas) + Ruppees to collect + two combat attacks + a better looking enviroment + health has been added + a game over for when link dies... + and much more.
Here are some screenshots:

A new Demo wont be out for another week or two... or maybe not I dont know... But thats all for now...
PHEW...

@SPIKE: Do I sense jealousy? J/K @Devon: Good thing you have going there. The one problem I have is the same problem I have with a lot of cartoony games out there - inconsistent amounts of detail. As you see the bushes are all in one colour (except that thing on the top). The "carpet" below it has more detail, rather than being a solid colour. But then again, I haven't ever made an adventure game so I wouldn't know..

lol are you kidding me?
themore i see of this game, the more my heart bleeds...
gorons in alttp? dekubabas? level design that does not fit for even half a second?
jealous? im not jealous... im a bit of enraged, a bit of disgusted and a bit of a feeling unknown to me. feels as if you ant to cry out because something you love just died or something like this...
but jealousy is the last thing i feel...
i know people (sadly, not me) who did better with A5...

I dont know what your problem is spike... but i told you that I am no longer making ALLTP.. Just making my own zelda game...
Gorons, dekubabas... They are from zelda.. so yeah, they fit. and level design... whats wrong with my level design? Considering this IS just a test level...
I dont know what i said, or did to piss you off to this extreme... but uhmm.. CHILL OUT! Its not your game, get over it.. and neither was ALLTP, so worry about your own games, not mine.
How long have you been programing? im sure more then 2 and a half years... which is how long ive been programing for... so considering the experiance... id say i did a good job on this...
So, have a good one... Devon. S.D.S.D.inc.
Ps. I'm sorry you did so poorly with A5... I wasnt very good with it either, but i was only starting when i was using it...
also, for a 23 year old, your pretty immature... just so you know.
