You have to read a tutorial for blender I learned it through reading the "Blender: Noob to Pro" tutorial (wich is much better now). It took me a few days to get into blender and I really don´t know many of it´s possibilities because it offers so many tools.
I really recommend you to go with blender. It is much more fun than with MED and you´ll be much faster.

@LogantheHogan: Especialy such simple objects as bottles are very easy and fast to create. For a bottle, I´d place four or fife vertices and use the spin tool. It would take not more than 30secs...

Since I know the basics of blender, I model much more than before
