I know Blender is "better" than MED, but I'm wondering if I should switch to it. Being a beginning user, MED is pretty easy; I was able to pick up most of the necessary functions without the manual. My worry is that Blender, if I switch, will be too confusing or time-intensive to learn, or I will be forced to learn/write plug-ins to use Blender content.
What are the pros and cons of Blender vs. MED?
What do you think I should do? Should I switch to Blender?
If I am posting, it probably means I am asking a question. Or faking my knowledge by agreeing with somebody else.

You have to read a tutorial for blender I learned it through reading the "Blender: Noob to Pro" tutorial (wich is much better now). It took me a few days to get into blender and I really don´t know many of it´s possibilities because it offers so many tools. I really recommend you to go with blender. It is much more fun than with MED and you´ll be much faster. @LogantheHogan: Especialy such simple objects as bottles are very easy and fast to create. For a bottle, I´d place four or fife vertices and use the spin tool. It would take not more than 30secs... Since I know the basics of blender, I model much more than before

First of all: There exists a very good export plugin by ventilator (the link is in his signature), so you don´t have to code one for yourself Second: I like blender very much because after a short amount of time invested in tutorials and a very good book about it, i got to knoe the main functions and it´s always a wonderful moment when you discover a new function which improves your models or saves time =) In addition to that, blender has lots of possibilities and functions and i think you can use your skills for other programs as well, so if you (what, of course, would be a pity) want to drop 3dgs for another engine or if you want to make little animation films, or whatever you won´t need a new program. I guess MED isn´t a very well-known tool. To come to a conclusion: I´d use blender. It´s more comfortable, has lots of lots of functions and on top of that you have another very good community only for the modelling tool (though all my questions got answered in this wonderful forum ) Greetings, Thracian
