Hey guys
Im currently studying multimedia in games, and as an assignment our group is making a racing game using 3dgs. It is an outdoor sort of all terrain buggy racing game and we are just having a bit of trouble with the best way to create the levels.
At the moment I have tried modeling the terrain in 3ds max then bringing them into the engine as a .3ds then converting to a terrain. This works although when driving around say a massive hollow cube and you look at the island you get massive lag and the fps drops to sub 20's. I have also imported it as a height map from earthsculpter and its the same deal.
Just wondering what is the best method to go about creating our levels??? or a way to improve the way I have been trying.
