i prefer just models as well, and i see what you mean where the shader's not enough yet. my trial exams will be over mid-next week and then i'll have a look at ventilator's plugin and see if i can get normal-mapping into it, among other effects.

maybe someone else who's already done it for their own project will shed some light on it sooner.

Would it may be good to have a short tutorial on how to do that? It is a very simple task to add a shadowmap, wich means that I could try to write something wich is may even a bit usefull

Send me a test environment, and I'll mod my NM shader to work with shadowmaps

...while I'm at it, if there's any other requests, let me know now. Such as # of Dyn lights, strip it down to essentials, etc...

Also, new idea, wouldn't it be possible to bake the light direction as well? Realise this would be a problem with more than one light, but couldn't the shadowmap store the light direction such as a normal does the surface normal...
...Just an idea


EDIT: I'm going to be working on the shader anyways. I'm planning on adding a sharpening filter, which is what gives normalmapping the true pro effect
