Hi there guys

Ive been viewing this forum as a guest for a while now due to your terrible automated email system that just doesnt send the emails.

Im a member of a few other 3dGS communities that have propped up die to 1 main reason. Your forum is terrible. Its poorly organised, doesnt look like its ever moderated and the color scheme/skin is unbeliably ugly.

IMO this needs a major revamp.

For a start, you need staff here answering questions, ive found hundreds and hundreds of requests for help from people that have no reply ot the reply is just from some non staff noob who doesnt know what they are talking about.

You need to fix that email varification system to actually send emails when it should and not AFTER the 24 hr perios id up.

The color scheme you have shows no clear break between what is a post, the guys signature and the next post. All the posts in a thread appear as 1 ugly mess. Please at the very least, stuck a dottel line between a post and a siggy, and a Break between the bottom of a siggy and the next post.. EEEEWWWW

Somebody needs to go through this forum, delete all old threads with no answers, either sticky threads or create a new sticky thread with links to posts people will find useful.

This is a commercial product, yet the forums are in a worse mess than any i have ever seen except possibly the EA forums, but its a close call. If you want to be professional, then your forum should reflect this.


Now.. having picked on your forum, i will say i do love the main site. Its very sexy indeed and well organised. I do however think there needs to be a bigger link to the tutorial section, insted of it being hidden amongst the downoloads.

Sorry to start my posting here off with a rant, but really, i think you guys need a foot in the ass as far as this goes

g'day! i don't think you'd get a ban for this because you're expressing your honest opinion in what i'd assume is the right forum.

there is a dashed line between posts and signatures, and posts are separated by table-borders. other colour schemes make this much clearer.

i do hate the colour scheme, but that can be changed in your preferences. i go for "desert". i think the default one should be changed to make it easier on the eyes.

i've gotta say i prefer the format of these forums than the format of most other forums. i don't browse that many other forums so i'm no expert though.

actually they do answer most questions (especially on weekdays). most of the questions left un-answered are done so because users who know what they're talking about have given answers.

well.. like i said, i changed that horrid default color scheme, and its alot better.

Infact it has more of a calming effect on me, the other one actually made me ANGRY looking at it. You should attempt to have it changed. This color scheme makes so much difference to weather u can see the posts properly and the siggys arent all intermixed with the post.

As for the un answered questions, i think people giving these answers should do so in the thread and not PM with souloutions. That way when other usere use the search function they dont get result after result of posts that have no answer.


Another suggestion would be to move ALL THREADS relating to old versions into a sepreate forum. Too many of the results i found were wrong / misleading simply because they were for A5 or an older version :S

The forum is moderated by users and questions are also answered by other users, not by staff, and there is also an A5 forum. And threads should certainly not be moved and deleted because they could contain important information for other users even if they arent answered immediately. So I think what you say makes not much sense.

When you look at some other internet forums, a couple are better than this forum but most are worse. But if you have a problem maybe write a realistic suggestion rather than a nebulous rant. Colors are just a matter of taste.

Year old threads with no reply should be kept then? Thats what makes no sense.

The colors are fine, once the Forum allows you to sign up. The Default colors are terrible. Everything runs together, the bars and spaces between posts are very very hard to see, making everyhting look like 1 big post.

Realistic suggestions? They were realisitc. If you tbink this forum is organised, then id hate to see your house. If you want a good example, take a look at the Adventure Game Studio forums. They keep everything in good order.
