you're right Helghast, i put too much detail on the head, my fault =/ but when i realized that it was too late

Anyway, the model will be seen from SO far ingame that 90% of the details won't be seen

Why the texture show only a side of the face? Can you uvmapped only a side of the body? How?

i guess he made one half of the body, copied and pasted it and used merge or weld. gotta have a closer look on the wireframe to tell that.

hm, hard to tell, but it doesn't look like copy & paste to me. you can also use mirror in the skin editor, i guess that's the solution.

or you can just move the UVs so that you get a mirrored version ;D.. there is many ways ^^

And maybe the more detailed top of the model is good, if it is a top down game?

Cool attemp and coming on nicely so I hope your getting the hang of low poly construction and as you say, its built for a particular aspect so the parts that need to be high detail are the upper torsoe and head and if its to be viewed from an RPG or 3rd person perspective it should be as such.

I like low poly but it doesnt give much options for versatility as each model is generally specific to thecharater it has to assume.

@ Mondivirtuali , you can select one half of the part your wanting to share a portion of the texture with, apply it then select the other half and mapp that onto the texture with its opposite after flipping it to fit.
Its quite versatile and helps create high definition looking skins.

The texture is mirrored, then i moved the vertices on the UVW map of the mirrored side to avoid the symmetry a bitç

And yes, since it's a top down game i wanted to keep the detail higher on the top part of the model

Please , explain me your technique to obtain a mirrored texture.
I use uvmapper lite as a mapper , and sometimes , lilunwrap
