I have a problem that one of my models is staying unlit. I looked at the properties but can't see where to change this.
It shows up fine in MED and in the WED editor but when I run it, its just black.

What could the problem be?

You need a skin on it.(UV Mapped texture)

Hi Nemisis.

It is skinned. I did a skin for it and applied it in MED. Maybe I'm doing something wrong in MED?

If the model with skin is above a certin size it gets the unlit flag set to on by default by the engine if I remember correctly. Even if you have not set it to that in WED (edited). I think you have to give the model an action in which you add the line my.unlit = off;

My texture size is 512 X 512 BTW.

..and the extension? .bmp, pcx, tga ?
Seems strange as this is the usual indicator for no skin applied or wrong size (not power of 2 but you say 512 x 512 anyway).

Other wise try tindust's suggestion but go thru WED first, properties for the object, deselect unlit if it is selected.

Do you have another model youve tried with?

I tried .bmp and .pcx.

I made a quick sphere and applied a texture and it was working fine. Tried that texture on my model and it was still unlit.
went back and re did it with a quick uV and it comes up.

I think what the issue was is that I UV mapped it using Polygons BEFORE I made it into triangles.
It's working now, so I suppose I will have tu UV MAP my model again :-/
At least it's working now

Cool, you got it sorted, generally you need to reapply UV's if you haven't exported it with the model from your modeling app to Gstudio.

I find MED a little confusing so I might just use fragMotion as I use Lightwave to model and animate. I don't see a Lightwave to MDL anywhere.

No but A.Russel may have something on that if you can get a hold of him, he used Lightwave for his Pachincko a Go Go game.
