i would like to thank you for your tutorial im only to workshop 6 but everything thing has ran perfectly no problems what so ever i think i may have noticed A (emphasis on the a) word that was misspelled or misused but was to busy basking in the glory of having acctually completed a tutorial to care
tho it does cover alot of things im just curious if this is completed or not to be honest im hoping its not as i dont want this tutorial to ever end i wish it could walk me thru my entire game ( wishfull thinking ) its just that easy to follow the tutorial that came with the program was rather confusing leaving out important information and steps but this one is a great contribution to all newbies as myself and experts as well im sure ( refrences are allways good)i do have one question tho where do i find the second part that it kept referring to thru out the manual with the predefined vars and such?
well anyway i wanted to let whoever the people working on this know i trully appreciate it if i had money id send it but for now i hope my thanks will be enough

They are quite a step up from the old tutorial in the manual. Quite good and up to date syntax and useage.

@ FeiHongJr - George is the one writing these, pretty much by himself. He also does AUM (magazine link at the bottom of the page). Don't worry though, he is already being paid, though I am sure he appreciates the thanks all the same.

I have a very little question. I saw a word in "An elegant Breakthrough - Part I" which is "Siesta". Can you tell me what that is?

It's Spanish for "an afternoon nap or rest period." FWIW, the word comes from the Latin sexta meaning "noon" or "the sixth hour."

In Workshop 8, it asks to start the engine and press F11 to display the space co-ordinates:-
Quote:

I have told you that if you don't write some code to change the position of the camera (our "window" inside the 3D world) the engine will place it in the origin every time you run a level. Keep the level running and press the F11 key - you will see a lot of figures on the screen but we will discuss only a few of them:

Whenever I press F11 I get no response. How do I bring up these numbers?

These are not the official tutorials are they, I have however downloaded all of the and tried them alongside the ones in the current manual (6.11.4), I noticed a few problems with the manauls c-script tutorials, but they have been fixed for me now, thanks to Greyson.

So I'm focusing now on learning as much c-script as I possibly can.
Maybe then I'll be able to contribute, but writing my own tutorials for you guys (and newer users) to follow.

Sorry about that, It was just a typo.

I wasn't thinking much and I did it at the very end of my IT lesson at school, and I was in a hurry. I had my substitute IT teacher moaning in my ear.
