hey chaps, complete noob so get set for nonsense!

i'm a game artist wanting to know if i can use normal maps generated in zbrush plonked on a model in maya and then bring the whole shebang into gamestudio?

i did see something about normal maps in photoshop, so i suppose i could use the uv map generated in zbrush and take it to photoshop but would that have the same effect as i want or is that more of a cheat?

cheers in advance

yeah, but the thing is.
If you use maya, you have to export it to a .mdl (or .fbx, but that sucks atm) and re-apply your textures in MED (2 texutre files seperate, texture 1 = colormap, texture 2 = normal map).

for the normal map you can simply use the one exported from zBrush.
I'm a shader noob as well, but got enough experience in 3dgs to tell you this
(also a Maya user )

good luck, and show us what you got (there arent many normal map showcased things around here) !

regards,
