I can bet you within 6 months (perhaps more) , you won't have an editor for
terrain as complete as this one and as powerfull !

What are you basing this on? Do you think the people who program OGRE apps are way more intelligent then people from the 3DGS user base? 6 months is a hell of a time, and I'm sure that a good programmer can achieve this with Lite-C.

Yeah make one Crysis level with Lite-c (Lite-C remains 3DGS core engine
not comparable to AAA core engines layers implementatiosn to DirectX)

No you can't, you can create a Crysis level with 3DGS, Lite-C is just used for the underlying program, and thus the A7 (or A6) is the core engine on which Lite-C runs. And no it isn't comparable with the AAA engines such as Unreal, but you get good value for money with it.

Cheers

I meaned official in 3DGS , but fisrt a complete terrain editor, and
in game editing for 3DGS .. when ???

For it's price , i agree 3DGS is a great valuable enought powerfull 3D egine

Now this Ogre3D plugin is powerfull indeed , lot lot of geometry :
massive , it can be mesh instancing or other technique what matters
is to have such engine feature and ease of use !

I just said , it's great for full terrain vegetation and it's open source ,
that's all.

Now some engines like Unity , already do excellent results or terrain vegetation and real time editor

TheExpert, when was the last time you looked anywhere else on here? Game Edit is already on public beta. Meaning we have "ingame-editor" already. Soon to be completed.

But the topic wasn't "how can Acknex and Lite-C create this?". So let's keep on topic, which is "What do you think of Dense Forest?".

Game Edit ??

I have heard of it two years ago
And i don't rely on users addons only if i use a free 3D engine.
If i pay an engine i want all features i need.
Not gonna pay more money for users things ??

I'm happy , i've not waited it , if it was the case it would have been
lot of useless hopes during two years !!

Conitec plans was to buy it and integrate it ??
Don't know what has been going ??

Just want 3DGS to be as complete as Unity 3D,Torque advanced etc ...
Tell me the day i can test a 3DGS demo with an editor having full terrain/vegetation editor , lighting and shaders integrated etc .. etc ...

Lot of years , not gonna wait more , today it's today ; not tomorrow or in some months or buy another plugin ...

Well each of us do what he wants ...
If Unity was indie price with all features and had PC editors today : i would buy it indeed , it's actually an esay to use engine with easy code and today next gen features/editor integrated

Wait one more year or more for 3DGS to be as advanced/complete (i says 3DGS not plugins addons, Unity don't use users plugins and it is complete) !!

Well it was juts that plugin is cool/powerfull for outdoor games and forests indeed

well why not make you that terrain editor's with the light and other think you like.

Also the public beta of gameedit are there (showcase2) and the code is in the beta forum, probably you can modify to your needed

Try the public beta and you can feel the sensation of a artist

No. You misunderstood me. I know that it can be done. I even know that you can do almost everything. You need just some machine code compiler, simple assembler code and a manual of the CPU instruction set and a DirectX documentation.

Then you can do everything in about 20 years from now

Ok , i've nbot been in Showcase 2 , i'll go and watch it.
So it can only be a very good things for 3DGS users.

What's sad two years ago , we've haerd of it , it was working almost here ,
Conitec should buy it , but nothing have been done
I hope now it's OK

ahahhaaaa Frank
yeah indeed :
Then you can do everything in about 20 years from now

OFFTOPIC

@TheExpert: most often I read your comments and you prove well-founded that you are just clowning around. Your "hahaha's" and often your partial superficial knowledge about these things make it hard for others to stay serious (I dont want to level up others or me compared to you, just to make this sure). I think your only mission is to scramble around for awesome things - which are a result of hard work - and then you complain about it here and claim that JCL should do this instantly, just because you paid 10 dollars for the engine. For some reasons, you are until a certain degree right - but then you massively exaggerate it while insulting others. Don't be ridiculous!

ONTOPIC

Is this technology comparable to SpeedTree? How about Imposters, did anyone experimented with them, too? I guess if these two techniques (instancing & imposters) make it as shader demos into GS, I see no reason why a vegetation system should'nt be doable.

HeelX: I haven't tested it yet, but I doubt it will overrule SpeedTree It is a good LOD system however, even better than in GS.

TehExpert: If you have knowledge on engines, coding and such, show it. I doubt you know nothing how these things work. Creating this and that is possible, but you think you can make Conitec, which has it's own plans, to make it for you. It's never going to work out.

The next one who posts offtopic messages, which do not: give us opinion how good it is, how bad it is, you tested it and comment it, tell us more of it etc, will cause this thread to lock down.
