MOV is also a wrapper for various CODEC's. MOV's use CODEC's such as, Cinepack, MPG 2, MPG 4, Indeo, etc....
It's the CODEC owner that you need to get a license from, or verify you are free to use or distribute video created with their video compressor. If you have to distribute a CODEC's drivers, you will for sure need a grant of license...
