Electric Image is one of the old 3D programs that has been around forever. It was a major player back in the day, somehow lost the race against the likes of MAX, Maya and lightwave, but has still managed to cling to life. It goes back to the days when there was no Maya (only Alias) and there was no 3D Studio MAX (only 3D Studio).
Amorphium is one of the very early 3D sculpting programs. When it first was released it was well received because, well, there was nothing much like it. However, programs like ZBrush trumped it and Amorphium technically died. Well ... it is dead, but it just does not realize it
