Hi Guys,

I have very often the same mistake-message in my WED.

It is the following:

I had download some "Environment"'s of this homepage or made own small worlds but every time there is the following message:

" File not found 'event_builder.wmb' "

" <EVENT_BUILDER.WMB>: Can't open file "

I don't understand it. I gave my project the name " event_builder " and I saved it. Then I want to start it and he can't find it?? If I go to the position where my data is then I find this project but the WED don't find it. What do I forgot?

No but I searched how can I build and I find it. Now it works. :=)

But do you can tell me why do I must build a level?? That means what happen If I push on the button " build level " ?

well the level will be "builded" that means a WMP file becomes a WMB file .. uhm well lets see what the master of everything, the god in the acknex world the most amazing, stunning and uber thing on earth says about it. (yeah I thought you know that I mean the MANUAL):

No I think that's not what he wants to know

When you have your Level it is saved as kind of rowmaterial in an wmp file. This only contains information about position and properties of all levelobjects that you placed. In the build process, this will be compiled into a wmb file, which contains also information about visibility and shadows so a precalculation of light settings and a mechanism to order the levelsurfaces belonging what is visible in the scene and what's not. In A7 this process does even more, but that's out of my range to explain in Detail.

Whenever you want to use static lightning, levelgeometrie and a predefined levelspace you need to build a level to make it working.

EDIT: Xarthor was faster, that's exactly what I wanted to say, of course
