Yeah, I read about how one cannot live without the tutorials. I TOTALLY agree.
But how do you access it? I downloaded a workshop but in the window it says "Internet page not available". The instructions for the "Windows security feature" thingy does not apply in my instance.

Without the precious tutorials I don't know what I am going to do.
PLEASE! I need help!!!

I have never managed to sort this problem with .chm files out either as none of the suggested fixes work for me. I can however advise you to have a look at
http://gstools.de/ in the AUM online section you can find html versions of all the new Acknex User Magazines.

Hope that helps,
Cartoon Baboon

If you have set up your system security settings in a way to prevent reading CHM files, there's a readme file in the workshops about how read them nevertheless.

Basically, right click onto the .chm file and select [Unblock].

If only that worked...

Sorry to say this, but the [unblock] option is not available.

Too bad! I think that Conitech should release their tutorials and help in more standard (.pdf, .doc, etc.) formats instead of a .chm file. Even a .htm file will suffice!
Not being able to read the tutorials is really a severe blow, as I do not know how to survive otherwise .

Well, being able to read electronic documents is essential for working with computer programs. CHM is the standard Windows help document format. You won't find many help manuals still in .doc or .pdf format nowadays.

Using Gamestudio without tutorial is certainly a severe handicap, so we'll work together to get your PC fixed. I need some information about your system. Which XP version are you using resp. which service packs have you installed? Can't you read any .chm documents or does the problem affect only the workshops? Can you read the manual? What happens when you click Help->Help in SED?

Well, I actually use Vista Home Premium (not service pack 1), not XP.
Yes, I can read .chm files--- but but not the tutorials and workshops that I downloaded .

When I click the help in SED it worked---

but is the info in the manual enough? I am reading it and it seems not to really guide me through the stuff as I thought it might.

Greatful for your help,

Try open the file as Administrator. You don't have to log in as Administrator, just open the file with Administrator rights.

Also, run "regedit" and check the setting of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\HTMLHelp\1.x\ItssRestrictions. When your system is set up to prevent you from reading CHM files at certain locations, it's at this place.

If you can read only some CHM files, try to copy the files that you can't open to a folder containing readable CHM files. The security setting on your PC might be drive and folder dependent.

Well, the Vista only has one account--- the administrator. Vista has been nutorious for the annoying UAC thing and Admin privelages. Maybe there's something hidden in there...

Thanks for responding!
