So far, I find it generally easy to create terrains with lightmapping using earthsculptor. However, this approach is pretty useless when I try to use a combination of geometric buildings (either blocks or models) and terrain, as blocks don't cast shadows on terrain. I know there's a way through this using gile and vents plugin, but im pretty sure you can also use 3ds max (which I can use as well). However, I can't figure out how to use that and export the mapping with lightmaps successfully, so Id appreciate if someone could help me out there. Also, if there are any other tools that would help, please let me know! thanks.
