this is an alpha test not a demo. i kno that speed is a bit of an issue in this. but i need more opinions on it. let me know how it looks. trying to fix the floating grass because there are a few of them that float. again this is an alpha test...but id barely call it an alpha test. no story line yet. just a extremely extremely small part of our current game. and dont go to our website. its incomplete. hardly anything there. were rebuilding it. enjoy and please tell me what you think of what weve got so far
EDIT: would be nice if i posted the download .
EDIT: aparently i still have a few bugs to flesh out with the downloader so if youd like to bypass the downloader go here

Okay.
im not sure if this problem is uiniversal to all pc's but when i tried to access my downloader(by clicking the link before i changed the file to a zip) it said that there was a problem with the exe file once i downloaded it.
I counteracted this problem by simply clicking "save"insted of "open" when it downloads. so the downloader is saved to the harddrive then open it from the folder. hopefully ill be albe to make this simpler in the future.

but why did i download a 1,4 mb file just to open it and click on a button which opens a url for the download link for the actual file?

it's like making a gallery demo that requires you to download a strange video codec, only to run that one program and never ever use the codec again

edit: i tested your alpha level, it looks quite good. but i think you're using shader right? they never work properly with my graphics card:(
but i could see the trees and the grass and the terrain and some stone floating in the air

lol ya so it looked pretty messed up on your system. and yes we felt the same way with the downloader hopefully we can find a way to make it better or eliminate the downloader all together. but on the bright side weve made a new media player. the old one was just a badly put together flash movie with buttons...this one is a bit more advanced....alot more advanced. its not on the website yet because the website isnt finished yet but it will be as soon as its done

I commented out some lines in the code and it works now. But it is very buggy at the moment. The models are looking quite good but the clipping is much to early and too hard. I made the experience that it improves the performence a lot if you put the grass into one big model. Shadows are missing
The level itself isn´t good designed as well. Make sure that even if it is small the player has the feeling as if it is a big world and not just this one terrain.
-> Place mountains everywhere around your level.
