Right, but I've never said that, besides... those programs will still be useful even for games with tons of procedurally generated content. (By the way, now I come to think of it, Photoshop's filters and so on, aren't those already procedurally generated effects?)
I guess the future and it's changes is a bit like giving people a spoon and a knife to eat with instead of a fork and knife. You will see they will switch hands a few times before they start eating with a knife and spoon. It's feels different because it is, but not everything has changed.

Absolutely true. That's exactly why I don't understand people that are complaining about lacking engines, but don't actually switch engines or even try to make things with the lacking engine. It's often like 'nah, I'm not touching that before it has xyz implemented', which is obviously a foolish approach if you want to actually make games and not just mess around with a tool for no reason,
