I had to do a complete re-do of my system (luckily I was able to save 3DGS, ). I'm actually using another computer to post this thread, because I still have yet to get my Internet up and running.

At first (before the reformat), my computer kept rebooting, and it basically scrambled quite a bit of the hard disk (hence the need for a reformat).

Turned out that my system's power supply wasn't adequate for my GPU, and that's why it kept rebooting, or so I thought.

Now, I've installed a new power supply which is more than enough for the graphics card, re-installed Windows, some of my drivers, and DirectX 9.0c. I even did a test run with one of my older projects to see if the installations had been sucessful.

However, I've had the computer reboot twice now, even after I thought I had fixed the problem, and I don't know what else could be causing the reboots.

Any help would be appreciated. Thx in advance.

Code:
void main()
{
    cout << "I am MrCode,";
    cout << "hear me roar!";
    system("PAUSE");
}

Hmm. Not sure myself, but check to make sure you have the four prong wire plugged into the mobo near the CPU. Then if this is a custom built computer check the CPU fan to assure it's cooling the CPU down enough.

Just some ideas

I'm 100% certain that your old power supply is fine. If it would be broken or not sufficient to run your GPU and so on, your PC would make a starting noise but never actually start up.

Rebooting is usually the cause of overheating of the CPU or (a broken) motherboard. I don't know what kind of RAM you have installed, but it might be a good idea to check those out too if you're able to.

When it's not rebooting at the moment, does it load your harddisk without problems?

Cheers

Well, actually, I've solved the problem... for now.

Actually, the RAM was the problem. Somehow, one of the RAM chips had gotten corrupted, and the system was trying to access several memory addresses that were on the bad chip.

I've got my Internet back up and running (posting this reply using my own computer again, ), and I think I'll be re-installing 3DGS pretty soon.
